Hints & Tips

If anyone is found to be flying in the 'No Fly Zone' the Committee will invoke the Disciplinary Procedures section of our Club Constitution.

It is now essential that no aircraft is flown in the 'No Fly Zone' AT ANY TIME . For those of you still unsure where the 'No Fly Zone' is please see the map below clearly showing where you must not fly.

In view of the size of our flying strip and the confines of the surrounding flying area no gas turbine powered aircraft are to be flown.

Please Note that Flying is not permitted before 10.00am or after dusk by any aircraft irrespective of the noise levels it may generate.

Flight Safety
It has come to the Committee's attention that control fixings on members` models are not as secure as they should be. Accordingly, it is now imperative that you make sure your aircraft comply with the following guidelines:

1.  1. Keepers must be used on all linkages/clevises.

2.  2. Control surface hinges (flat, where fitted) must be pinned.

3.  3. Servos must be fixed as per the manufacturer?s instructions. I.e. if 4 screws are required then that is what should be done.

4.  4. A range check of every Tx must be carried out prior to flying.

  5. Transmitters with damaged/broken aerials must not be used.

We operate a "Peg On" system of frequency control so you must ensure that your peg is on the board before switching on your TX.

If you are using a 2.4Ghz set then a black peg is generally recognised for this frequency.
